Quality Inspector

Our cutting-edge technologies and solutions are trusted by military and commercial customers worldwide. We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Ottawa based team. This role involves inspecting incoming materials, components, and finished goods, identifying non-conformances, and working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality standards.

What will you be doing?

• Coordinate and manage priorities of received material for incoming inspection

• Perform inspections and evaluations of supplier certificates of conformance (CofC)

• Ensure proper documentation accompanies all received items, including certificates of conformance (CofC)

• Inspect incoming material for conformance to purchase order requirements

• Inspect and approve received materials by confirming conformance to engineering design data, drawings, material specifications, and company workmanship standards, customer and industry requirements.

• Document inspection results by completing receiving inspection reports

• Maintain and complete all required quality control documentation

• Maintain records of receiving inspection reports, supplier inspection reports, and supplier certificates of conformance. The quality control database and ERP system.

• Generate nonconformance reports for failed inspections (non-conformance tickets)

• Mechanical (layout) inspection for supplier sample submissions and incoming inspection

• Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspection productivity and assist with root cause and corrective action activities pertaining to inspection

• Oversight and maintenance of the calibration process

• Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits

What do we need from you?

• Prior experience within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

• Prior experience in quality inspection and quality inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

• Prior experience using an ERP system is an asset

• Knowledge and application of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Proficient ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents

• Experience in the usage of precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pin gauges, gauge blocks)

• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
