Job Description
Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Director, the Project Manager II will be responsible for effectively managing all aspects of assigned Bio/Pharmaceutical projects – including any specific primary accounts or clients. This is a customer focused role requiring excellent communication and organizational skills to act not only as an advocate for the client but also manage all internal stakeholder expectations and deliverables. The Bio/Pharmaceutical Project Manager II will act as the central point of contact for assigned projects (or clients), follow Project Management best practices and function as a resource within the BPT Operations team for assigned projects. The incumbent must be energetic, exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and must have the ability to interact with customers and staff in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful and efficient. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.
The Project Manager II must:

Utilize communication and organization skills to manage client expectations by serving as an Advisor; so the client contacts know exactly what is needed, when it is needed, how it is needed and what will happen if not delivered.

Utilize same skills to manage internal stakeholder expectations – assist operational contacts with work organization and prioritization by following up on assigned actions.

Serve as the central point of contact for the client to navigate the working relationship and accomplish their goals.

Advocate for the client’s interest and escalate accordingly.

Set each lab and supporting group up to be able to execute with a high level of quality on behalf of the client.

Serve as a resource for the client’s information and provide project background to influence priorities in BPT operational groups.

Balance advocacy of the company and the customer.

Create and present deliverables and key milestones (as needed) to maintain organization in a legible manner for both internal and external contacts.

Serve as the key customer contact for assigned clients to minimize the amount of time operations staff are communicating with customers.

Effective email communication with research completed and assign clear delineation of responsibility, action needed, background and need by date.

Effective scheduling and meeting management to ensure operational contacts are only required for true technical actions or responses.

Work alongside the Customer Service Team to manage Clients needs/expectations.

Establish Project/Program specific trackers, Gantt charts, project summaries (as needed).

Review and approve SOWs based on client need.

Demonstrate willingness and urgency in resolving credit and billing/pricing issues.
Qualifications
General:
- Work competently without direct supervision.
- Ability to display understanding of all phases of Bio/Pharmaceutical project management.
- Provide coaching or serve as a training resource/mentor to other Project Managers.
- Must be able to function effortlessly within eLims BPT modules.
- Ensure client confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Strong computer, organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in data/report generation, retrieval and interpretation of routine testing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Specific Desired Experience:
- 6+ years working with project management or client service activities;
- Experience working with Pharmaceutical clients and products;
- Experience working in a contract laboratory considered an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Good computer skills - proficiency with MS Office;
- Working knowledge of Laboratory Information management Systems (LIMS).
EDUCATION
- A B.Sc. degree preferably in Chemistry, or diploma in related field;
- A solid background and understanding of BioPharma testing is mandatory;
WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is working in a customer service environment for Laboratory testing where on site presence is required for approximately 25% of the time. While not anticipated, this position is eligible for overtime activities (subject to direct Supervisor approval).

This position involves working off-site, where the employee is required to ensure a stable internet and mobile connection and maintain a safe work environment.
