CPT Construction · Oakville, ON · Full-time, on-site · $55,000–$70,000 CAD
About CPT Construction
CPT Construction is a self-performing Division 9 interior finishes contractor based in Oakville, Ontario. We self-perform the full finishes package - metal framing, drywall, insulation, acoustic ceilings, taping, painting, and flooring - under a single source contract, so GCs and developers can hand us one scope and trust it delivered at scale.
Our work is already on the board across hospitality, healthcare and long-term care, institutional, ICI, retail, and multi-residential: Arcavia, Oakwood LTC, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, and Hyatt, among others. We're building the dominant Division 9 platform in the GTA, and our project volume is growing fast.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to senior leadership and working alongside estimators and project teams with decades of trade experience, the estimator will support the tender process end to end - producing accurate, competitive estimates for our self-perform finishes scopes. This is a newly created seat to support our continued growth. We're growing fast, and we're hiring someone who wants to grow with us - into a position of leadership. You'll get real ownership early, learn from veterans, and build the foundation to run estimating as the platform scales.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Take-Offs
Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for material, labour, and equipment across Division 9 scopes Perform quantity take-offs for framing, drywall, insulation, ceilings, taping, painting, and flooring Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify scope, risks, and discrepancies Attend site visits and incorporate critical project information into estimates
Tendering & Pre-Construction
Build and submit competitive, compliant bid packages on time Complete bid summaries, submission documentation, and status reports Coordinate with GCs, suppliers, and project teams through the bid cycle Support pricing strategy and value-engineering opportunities
Relationships & Process
Build strong relationships with suppliers and clients to secure competitive pricing Maintain accurate trade lists and estimating resources Flag scope gaps and risks early - before they reach the client or cost us margin Help tighten our estimating process as we scale
Skills & Attributes
Strong attention to detail - you know a missed line item is a missed margin
Analytical and organized, able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines Clear written and verbal communication Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable - you chase answers and find a way through problems that stop others Leadership potential - you want to grow into running the estimating function, and you carry yourself that way
Qualifications
Estimating or construction experience - interior finishes or Division 9 is a strong asset Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Comfortable with take-offs and pricing; experience with estimating software is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office A diploma or degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is an asset but not required - the right drive and trajectory matter more
Five Operating Principles
Embrace Challenges. Hard scopes, compressed schedules, difficult regulatory environments. When a project presents a problem, we find a way through and execute. No escalation, no delay. Do It Right. Right materials. Right tradespeople. Right finish. No shortcuts, no excuses, even when no one's watching. Full Responsibility. Every deadline, outcome, and issue on a CPT scope belongs to CPT. Problems surface early and get resolved before they reach the client. Win Together. The crew on site and the client awarding the work are working toward the same outcome. Open communication. Consistent follow-through. No surprises. Safety First. Every person goes home safe. That's the one thing we'll never compromise on.
