Role Description The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will work full time on-site at APlus Accounting Services Inc. in St John’s, NL. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, performing full-cycle accounting, and managing tax preparation and compliance for a diverse client base. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing financial data, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, and providing clear recommendations to support client decision-making. The CPA will collaborate with team members and clients, maintain accurate records, assist with budgeting and financial planning, and participate in process improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

Strong accounting and finance skills, including experience with Accounting and Finance principles and practices. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements in accordance with applicable standards. Demonstrated expertise in Tax Preparation, including compliance, planning, and filing for individuals and businesses. Active Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation in good standing. Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-specialists. Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; public practice experience is an asset. Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and ongoing professional learning, including staying current with tax and accounting regulations.
