Designated Work Location: 395 Main Street, 2nd Floor

Position Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Salary: $2,394.09 - $2,567.22 bi-weekly, as per the Senior Clerk Classification within the C.U.P.E Collective Agreement.

Job Profile

Under the general supervison of the Research and Marketing Coordinator, the Advertising Sales Liaison is responsible for implementing a new, industry trend-sensitive adversiting sales program on behalf of Community Services Department. This comprehensive ad sales program includes the management of an innovative, modern and expanded inventory of ad space mediums.

The Advertising Sales Liaison will also be responsible for working in a Divisional team led by the Research and Marketing Coordinator and including a Research and Digital Media Analyst. The Analyst will assist the Liaison with the sale of advertising, the financial management of agreements as well as the ad sales customer database where required.

The advertising sales program concentrates primarily on department publications (Leisure Guide), department facility-based advertising (arenas, pools, libraries, recreation centres) as well as other departmental ad sales opportunities.

As The Advertising Sales Liaison, You Will

Develops advertising sales business relationships with existing and new clients in business-to-business markets for the purposes of selling advertising. Administers departmental advertising sales marketing plans to promote the sale of advertising, and develops departmental advertising campaigns to promote departmental programs and services. Coordinates advertising sales agreements. Coordinates the physical (and digital when applicable) installation, removal and inventory of advertisements, advertising mediums and available advertising spaces. Develops relevant performance tracking and budgeting systems.

Your Education And Qualifications Include

Diploma - Majoring in Marketing & Communications or Other Relevant Post-Secondary education. Certificate in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing highly desirable. Three years demonstrated experience in advertising sales with emphasis on both digital and non-digital advertising mediums. Demonstrated knowledge of the current advertising industry, mediums, and trends. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Must be confident, detail oriented, ambitous, self-starter, and a business relationship builder. Must be a proactive, goal-oriented individual comfortable with cold calling. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Knowledge of creative design and advertising standards. Demonstrated computer skills in advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and forecasting. Demonstrated ability to develop detailed financial spreadsheets. Demonstrated issue/problem solving skills. Demonstrated contract administration experience. Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. Must possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License. Demonstrated ability to develop a marekting plan (12 months). Demonstrated ability to develop pricing strategies (12 months). Demonstrated ability to operate digital advertising display software (6 months). Demonstrated ability to query reports from a Microsoft Access database (12 months).
