Within the Industrial, Construction, and Major Projects, as a Cost Controller :

Your responsabilities

Our client and its subsidiaries are seeking a Cost Controller (junior, intermediate or senior) to join its Regulated Engineering Services team. The individual will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Capital Planning team.

  • Development of finance tables for all portfolios for inclusion in Capital Budget Application and other filings

  • Facilitate the sanctioning, opening and closing of approved projects

  • Review & reconcile Front End Engineering costs

  • Review Basis of Estimates for appropriate cost allocations

  • Review least cost analysis with Investment Evaluation

  • Completion of capital project cost reporting; including variance explanations

  • Creation of work orders to facilitate the tracking of costs

  • Completion of project forecasts, capital budget change orders, contract change orders and cost flows.

  • Preparation of monthly capital accruals

  • Attestation and coding of vendor invoices and the completion of progress billings.

  • Completion of project close out documentation for Finance including Asset Assignment Forms, Interest cut off forms, etc.

  • Other adhoc reporting, as required.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a similar field

  • Relevant proven cost control experience is required, preferably in a capital project environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting processes and software

  • Experience in the electric utility industry is considered an asset.
