Reports To: Production Supervisor / Team Lead
Location: York Precast Inc. Production Facility
Position Summary
ThePrecast Production / Fabricatorassists in the safe and efficient production of precast and prestressed concrete products used in commercial, residential, and industrial construction. This position involves hands-on fabrication tasks including preparing forms, placing reinforcing steel, pouring and finishing concrete, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Team members will work closely with supervisors and fellow production staff to meet daily production goals while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the production of a variety of precast and prestressed concrete products.

Prepare production forms and molds including cleaning, oiling, and setup.
-
Place reinforcing steel, embeds, and connection hardware as required.
-
Assist with pouring, vibrating, finishing, and curing concrete.
-
Strip forms and prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
-
Perform patching, grinding, and finishing work as required.
-
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
-
Follow all production instructions provided by the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout the shift.
-
Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials within the plant.
-
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.
-
Participate in cross-training to support multiple production processes within the plant.

Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
-
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
-
Minimum 1+ years of experience in Precast Concrete, Manufacturing, Construction, or other related industry.

Ability to work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment.
-
Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs and performing repetitive manual tasks.
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
-
Ability to read and write English.
-
Basic ability to use measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools.
-
Ability to follow direction and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Assets
-
Previous experience working in a precast concrete production facility or similar construction/manufacturing environment.
-
Experience reading and interpreting shop drawings or basic blueprints.
-
Standard First Aid Certification.
-
Fall Protection Certification.
-
Aerial Work Platform (AWP) Certification.
Working Conditions
-
Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to concrete, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.

Physically demanding work including lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive movement.

Occasional overtime may be required to meet production schedules.
