The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Industrial Specialist to join our Commercial team in Toronto .

This is a permanent Hybrid position.

As an Industrial Specialist , you will conduct macro‑economic and pricing analysis across Vale Base Metals’ commodity portfolio, developing price forecasts using Value‑In‑Use, Incentive Pricing, and multivariate regression techniques. You will provide market balance insights, maintain pricing models and key KPIs, and analyze global market drivers including economic indicators, commodity prices, premiums, transfer prices, derivatives, and policy impacts. You will help the organization interpret external market intelligence, support strategic planning, and participate in discussions on market opportunities and risks. You will also collaborate closely with commercial sales, technical marketing, and the Vale Technical Excellence Centre to align insights across products, segments, and regions.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Develop Excel ‑ based pricing analytics tools to capture key inputs and recommend target/floor premiums for short ‑ and long ‑ term pricing.
  • Analyze macro ‑ indicators affecting supply/demand and ensure consistent integration into forecasting models.
  • Collaborate across teams (RMUs, Sales, CRM, Product, Market Analysts) to produce market insights, plans, and premium forecasts.
  • Provide CRM ‑ related pricing analysis, reporting, and recommendations on optimal pricing content once CRM is fully developed.
  • Communicate premium/discount recommendations to RMU Heads & Sales Managers, monitor customer data, and define deviation guidelines.
  • Maintain and enhance market models (24 ‑ month IBP view + long-term strategy), track KPIs, and report premium performance to minimize leakage.
  • Prepare materials and research for IBP meetings, internal/external reporting, and presentations on commodity markets and emerging trends.
  • Support executive leadership and Investor Relations with timely market data, insights, and responses to ad ‑ hoc requests.

About You Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline is required,

Experience:

  • 8-15 years of experience in the field
