Hours: Monday - Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
Wage Range: $31.28 - $42.05
Position Summary: The Financial Analyst position is an integral part of a busy and dynamic non-profit Society and will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparation and reconciliation of reporting, forecasting and assisting with the preparation of budgets. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and a solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and non-profit reporting.
Typical Duties Include:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support data-informed decision-making across programs.
- Analyze budget trends and variances in program expenditures and assist in developing financial forecasts.
- Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and program objectives.
- Coordinate and prepare reports and invoicing for contracts, ensuring accurate and timely financial submissions.
- Support the implementation and oversight of financial policies, internal controls, full-cycle accounting processes and funder agreements
- Assist in the review and validation of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
- Analyze payroll trends and costs to support reporting and budgeting
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Chartered Professional Accountant in good standing or finishing this designation within a reasonable time period, is required.
- Minimum of three years relevant experience in financial budgeting, program costing, budget/financial modeling, reporting and administration is required.
- In-depth knowledge of non-profit or charitable financial operations and community-based programs will be considered an asset
- Exceptional communication skills that promote seamless collaboration across diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
