Job Description The NDT Technician / Quality Specialist is responsible for performing inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) on structural steel components in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including CSA W47.1, CSA W59, and, where required, AWS codes. The role ensures that fabrication and welding activities meet specified quality, safety, and compliance requirements. NDT Technician Perform inspections in accordance with CSA W47.1, CSA W59, and applicable AWS standards Execute non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (where certified) including: Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable acceptance criteria Identify, document, and report non-conformances and deficiencies Prepare detailed inspection and NDT reports with clear traceability Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company quality systems and client requirements Maintain calibration and proper use of NDT equipment Perform third-party verification audit activities as required External Quality Management System Develop client Quality Management Systems. Ensure these manuals and programs meet the applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding the QMS Support and assist with preparations for client for audits and respond to quality-related inquiries Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required (Required) CWB Level 2 or 3 Visual Inspection Certificate is an asset (Preferred) Minimum 3+ years experience in inspection and NDT (Required) Experience working in fabrication shops, construction sites, or industrial environments (Required) Valid driver’s license (Required) Additional Information SGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetics, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristics protected by law.
