Position Overview:

Are you a strong leader with a passion for safety, people, and operational excellence?

As a Mining Field Operations Manager, you’ll oversee all field customer interactions, manage service scheduling, and ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet customer expectations. You’ll be accountable for the entire service process—from dispatch to time entry—while driving performance, safety, and customer satisfaction across multiple sites.

For this position, the expected salary range is between $120,000 and $135,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications. We also offer additional incentives such as a annual bonus and premium for certain shifts.

Job Description:

  • Champion safety leadership by promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all OH&S standards, and implementing corrective actions from audits.
  • Lead and develop field operations staff through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability.
  • Monitor and manage operational results daily, weekly, and monthly, including SWIP performance, to ensure efficiency and profitability targets are met.
  • Coordinate scheduling and dispatching of field service work, balancing customer priorities with available resources to maximize productivity.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by acting as the primary point of contact for service-related inquiries and ensuring timely communication.
  • Ensure timely closure and invoicing of work orders, maintaining accuracy and compliance with company processes to support financial performance.
  • Manage service trucks, tooling, and NSC compliance, ensuring all assets are maintained and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Foster positive labor relations by maintaining strong relationships with unionized employees and ensuring adherence to collective agreements.
  • Support employee training and development, verifying that safe work practices and technical standards are consistently applied in the field.
  • Apply business acumen to interpret KPIs, forecast operational needs, and implement strategies that drive branch profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Technician certification or equivalent experience with Caterpillar equipment.
  • Proven leadership experience in field operations or service management.
  • Strong understanding of Caterpillar products, warranties, and dealership processes.
  • Knowledge of National Safety Code (NSC) and OH&S requirements.
  • Ability to manage performance, resolve issues, and lead in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and KPI analysis.
  • Ability to work in remote environments and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must meet customer site requirements, including drug/alcohol screening and fitness testing.
  • Valid drivers license and cleared driver’s abstract.

  • This position can be based out of any Finning location in Northwest BC.
  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Rotational 14 x 14 shift (11.5 hour days)
  • Supporting various customer sites between Terrace and the Golden Triangle.
