About the role
The Finance Director – Americas will lead and execute the finance function across Canada, the U.S., and Colombia for a fast-growing technology consulting company. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions, driving financial performance, and partnering with leadership to support strategic growth initiatives.
We are seeking a sharp, reliable, and detail-oriented leader with proven experience in multi-country operations and a strong track record in scale-up environments. This role requires someone who is not just a manager, but an active contributor, capable of building structure, ensuring financial discipline, and delivering actionable insights to drive business success.
Responsibilities Financial Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations across the Americas, including Canada, U.S., and Colombia.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital to ensure financial stability.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control (OPEX & CAPEX).
- Supervise payroll, ensuring compliance and accuracy across jurisdictions.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Own the P&L and deliver accurate, insightful FP&A reporting.
- Develop financial models for business cases, ROI assessments, and scenario planning.
- Track and analyze KPIs to provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, Group CFO (Europe), and regional leadership to support decision-making.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, corporate regulations, and statutory filings across all jurisdictions.
- Manage external audits, internal controls, and risk mitigation frameworks (including currency, credit, and operational risk).
- Implement and improve financial processes and systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus).
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop finance team members in Canada and Colombia (currently 2 direct reports, with potential to expand).
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and business partnership within the finance function.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required (CA/public accounting background preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including exposure to tech/professional services and growth-stage/mid-size companies.
- Proven experience managing multi-country finance operations (Canada, U.S., Colombia preferred).
- Strong understanding of cash flow, FP&A, compliance, and operational finance.
- Excellent communication, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bilingual with fluent English (Spanish a strong asset).
- Hands-on, structured, and adaptable — able to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
