As the Information Technology Senior Systems Analyst (IT SSA) you will provide technical expertise in end-to-end systems analysis, specializing in analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions to solve business problems using information technology. The role ensures business requirements for solutions and other IT services are understood and translated into well-designed IT specifications and options. Primary duties include:

  • Serve as a liaison between the business units and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Provide systems analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design
  • Perform duties of Project Manager function, manage overall coordination, status reporting, and monitoring of project-oriented work efforts in accordance with corporate standards and methodologies.
  • Provide status reporting, including formal reports and presentations
  • Ensure projects follow The City's best practices, methodologies, and guidelines
  • Facilitate implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing applications.

Qualifications

  • A completed 2 year Technical Diploma with at least 8 years of related experience; OR
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience with system design with strong integration, architecture, and data skills is required.
  • Experience in implementing software solutions (Custom or Commercial off the Shelf) from initiation to implementation using software solutions methodologies is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management will be considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Online is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in software development is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of The City of Calgary's standards, processes and procedures will be considered an asset
  • You are a strong communicator, who develops trusted relationships and demonstrates initiative, a customer service focus, positive ambassadorship, and the ability to meet commitments

Pre-employment Requirements

  • A security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 13 $49.32 - 66.00 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
