Duties
The Military Museum Manager provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and cultural stewardship of The Military Museums in Calgary. They ensure the preservation, interpretation, and promotion of Canadian military history through exhibitions, education, and community engagement. On a daily basis, the manager leads the team, coordinates with military and academic partners, oversees and reports on exhibitions and programs, manages resources, and fosters relationships with the public to uphold the museum’s mission as Western Canada's largest tri-service military heritage institution.

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Calgary, Alberta
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION
The Minimum Standard Is A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Note

- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
c. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
d. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the PM classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.
Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the PM classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

Experience EX01: Experience in developing and managing relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (such as government, community organizations, charities, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, etc.).
EX02: Experience in developing briefing notes or related material (such as briefing, reports, fact sheets) for the use of senior/executive management (such as a director)
EX03: Experience in providing guidance to external clients.
EX04: Experience in managing financial resources.
EX05: Experience in supervising and managing employees.
EX06: Experience providing advice to senior managers or executives.
