POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting effective production and operational planning through timely data entry, inventory validation, and coordination activities. This role works closely with Production, Scheduling, and Warehouse teams to ensure inventory integrity, support material flow, and enable efficient execution of the production plan. The position plays a key role in monitoring inventory movements, identifying discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement in inventory control processes.

It is part of the MoveUp union bargaining unit, and successful candidates will be required to become and remain a member of the MoveUp union as a condition of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, transaction audits, and system updates.
  • Investigate, track, and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine audits of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Ensure proper documentation and control of inventory transactions and adjustments.

Operations & Scheduling Support

  • Support Production and Scheduling teams by providing accurate inventory data and reporting.
  • Communicate raw material requirements and inventory constraints to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback on inventory inaccuracies or documentation issues affecting production planning.
  • Assist in aligning inventory availability with production requirements.

Material Flow & Coordination

  • Coordinate inventory transfers and ensure proper system recording of movements.
  • Support the distribution of raw materials and finished goods within the facility.
  • Generate and manage inventory control tags and related tracking processes.
  • Provide operational support to ensure smooth material flow across departments.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain inventory-related data files and system records to support operational needs.
  • Generate and distribute inventory and performance reports as required.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support continuous improvement of data management practices and reporting processes.

Audit & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in internal audits and initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and control processes.
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory performance and operational efficiency.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and responsibility of the role.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in inventory control or a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
