About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Director of Operations to provide visionary leadership and hands-on management for 23 established Tim Hortons locations across Prince Edward Island, with more stores planned for development. This is the senior-most operations role in the organization, reporting directly to the Owner.

The Director of Operations is the operational and cultural leader for all Tim Hortons business activities on PEI. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability role where you will be expected to treat the network of stores as your own business. You will drive operational excellence, financial performance, and a positive, collaborative team culture. Success in this role requires a strong "boots-on-the-ground " approach, exceptional people leadership skills, and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of the daily business

Operational Excellence & Leadership:

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for 23+ Tim Hortons locations, ensuring alignment with brand standards and operational procedures.
  • Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of approximately six (6) District Managers (DMs), fostering a highly motivated and effective leadership structure.
  • Be a visible presence in the stores, focusing on aesthetic standards, guest experience, and team morale, mirroring a humble approach (e.g., willing to help on the service line when needed).
  • Proactively anticipate operational curveballs and maintain the flexibility and drive to tackle issues well beyond a standard 9-5 schedule.

Financial Performance & Business Acumen:

  • Drive accountability for financial results, utilizing strong business acumen to monitor performance, manage costs, and maximize profitability.
  • Develop and execute strategies to consistently hit key performance metrics, acting as a positive motivator and "cheerleader" for the team.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance and other key stakeholders on business planning and performance.

Team Development & Culture:

  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment across all levels, from the store teams up through the District Managers.
  • Embrace a strong mentorship role, actively grooming District Managers and General Managers for upward mobility within the organization.
  • Ensure a strong alignment between the East Coast culture and leadership style to maintain high retention and engagement amongst the DM team.
  • Maintain strong verbal communication with the owner and leadership team, balancing effective electronic communication with critical interpersonal dialogue.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in multi-unit Operations, with at least 3+ years in a senior management role.
  • Non-negotiable significant leadership experience within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or Fast Food industry.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of driving measurable business results with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A strong preference for candidates who possess an educational background (degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred).
  • Exceptional soft skills—humility, positive attitude, collaboration, and strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities—that enable successful coaching and team motivation.
