Future challenges :

Reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent, the Supply Chain Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing all supply chain activities, including purchasing, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relations. They play a key role in the organization's operational performance by ensuring efficiency, cost reduction, and risk management. Their main responsibilities are :

  • Define and deploy the overall supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives;
  • Oversee purchasing, logistics, transportation, and inventory management activities;
  • Optimize procurement, planning, and distribution processes;
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers;
  • Negotiate major contracts and ensure rigorous management of agreements;
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks;
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements;
  • Coach, motivate, and develop teams (purchasing, logistics, warehousing);
  • Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and project teams;
  • Support continuous improvement and organizational transformation initiatives.

Required profile

  • University degree in supply chain management, administration, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent);
  • 10 to 15 years of supply chain experience, including several years in a management role;
  • Excellent proficiency of purchasing, logistics, transportation, and inventory management functions;
  • Experience in contract management and strategic negotiation;
  • Proven leadership and ability to mobilize multidisciplinary teams;
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and change management skills;
  • Experience in an industrial or mining environment (a strong asset);
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and analytical tools;
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is essential.

Assets

  • Experience in multi-site management (e.g., head office and remote sites);
  • Knowledge of northern logistics or mining sites;
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and their transportation;
  • Experience with specialized tools (e.g., IT Guide or equivalent).
