We are hiring a CNC Setup/Operator to join our growing Manufacturing team in Grimsby! Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar CNC Mill Setup or Operator role and strong attention to detail. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour Day Shift; Employee must be on-site by 8:00am
  • ½-hour Unpaid lunch from 12:30pm-1:00pm
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours

Wage: $22.00-$26.00/hour depending on experience

Overview:

  • Report to Manufacturing Team Lead
  • Responsible for setup and operation of a CNC Mill with Fanuc control
  • Accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
  • Set up parts and tools
  • Measure parts
  • Perform inspections and quality checks on completed parts
  • Communicate with Team Lead and Manufacturing Admin to ensure proper quantity of tooling and materials
  • General cleaning of workspace and machine maintenance
  • Ensure the use of proper PPE
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Other related duties as required

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating a CNC Mill
  • Fanuc control experience preferred
  • General Machining knowledge as an asset
  • Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Experience using measuring equipment including gauges, micrometres, verniers, etc.
  • Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team
  • Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have own tools and toolbox
