Your area of focus. In this exciting role, the Automotive Assistant Sales Manager is a highly driven assistant sales manager to the sales manager with day-to-day running of our store. The assistant sales manager’s responsibilities include developing strategies to improve sales, effectively handling customer complaints, and assisting with the recruitment of sales staff. You should also be able to delegate tasks to the sales staff in the absence of the sales manager. To be successful as an assistant sales manager, you should demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and ensure that sales staff comply with company policies and guidelines. Ultimately, a top-performing assistant sales manager should be able to achieve excellent customer service at all times.
What drives your day-to-day?
- The Automotive Assistant Sales Manager/Team Leader must consistently and profitably meet vehicle sales quotas through expert management and leadership of the sales team and by filling in front end positions when necessary, including desking, calling in deals, contracting customers and performing the finance role when needed
- Manage, train and direct a team of Sales Professionals
- Motivate the team through our company’s vision and direction to encompass our mission statement
- Communicate clear expectations and hold team accountable to achieve all brand, performance and behavior standards - Drive the company’s brand loyalty through demonstrating sales leadership, coaching and connecting with the customer experience
- Manage the execution of the current sales process to deliver a premium customer experience
- Maintain the highest degree of customer satisfaction with the ability to handle all customer interaction with an award-winning smile and a positive attitude
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that support annual sales goals and cost control - Communicate and plan with General Manager to arrive at daily/monthly sales goals
- Leading daily meetings with staff to review individual and department goals
- Learn to overcome objections; ask for the sale; negotiate price; complete sales or purchase agreement; explain and offer warranties service and finance
- Closing deals and monitoring team deal closings
- Encourage and motivate Sales Professionals daily to maintain high morale
- Be able to interpret reporting and manage department by the numbers
- Acts as back-up for finance manager when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
What Are The Must-haves…
- A minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in automotive dealership Sales or Finance, includes closing own deals
- Post-Secondary education in a related discipline would be considered an asset
- Sales experience with verifiable proof of meeting sales targets
- Ability to be professional and deliver exceptional service to clients
- Working understanding of financial systems, banks, and structure of deals
- A desire to work in a commission, performance-based environment
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet required deadlines and targets
- A person of high integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honors their commitments
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful
- Results-driven and career focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful
- Experience using CRM, V-Auto other automotive software systems would be considered an asset.
