The Opportunity
Autodesk is seeking a Product Management Intern with interest in data visualization and product thinking to join our Analytics Data Platform (ADP) Product Management team. The ADP team is chartered with making data an integral part of decision making at Autodesk through the Analytics Data Portal. This role sits at the intersection of data visualization and product management: you will contribute to data visualization initiatives while thinking like a product manager—gathering use cases, landing requirements, and helping shape how we deliver value through data.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the concepts and practice of data visualization and able to communicate effectively with data analysts and stakeholders.
What You will Do
- Contribute to the design and development of data visualizations and dashboards.
- Help land requirements for new data visualization features.
- Work with data analysts to understand data sources, metrics, and business context.
- Interpret and translate business needs to technical and product requirements.
- Document use cases, outcomes, and key results.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You will Need to Succeed
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Design, Business, Product Management, or a related field; advanced degree in progress a plus.
- Conceptual understanding of data visualization; experience with a specific tool is less important than understanding what makes visualizations effective.
- A product mindset for solving real user problems.
- Comfort working with data and basic data structures; familiarity with SQL, Excel, or a BI or visualization tool a plus.
- Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to interpret and translate business needs to technical and product requirements.
- Interest in product management practices such as gathering use cases and defining success criteria.
- Familiarity working with Agile Scrum teams.
