About the role
Job Description Our public sector client, Affinity is looking for an Insurance Agency Manager & nominee to represent its agency in provinces and territories it operates and supervise a small team of licensed general insurance agents. Reporting to the Director, Ancillary Operations and with extensive experience as a licensee, this person ensures regulatory supervision of agents, monitor quality and compliance with practices, actively participate in recruiting and integrating new agents, and contribute to continuous process improvement and overall agency performance. The nominee works closely with the Corporate Compliance Team for the monitoring activities, controls, reporting, projects or any other regulatory initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Taking a leadership role in designing and improving distribution standards for our automobile damage insurance suite of products nationally.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and ongoing training to the agency licensed agents, organize regular team meetings and ensure the onboarding, integration and development of new agents as applicable.
- Supervise the licensed agents, perform quality assurance review of files, track and monitor continuing education and licensing requirements of the agents and agency.
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory inquiries and complaints, write supervision reports and follow up on corrective actions, conduct controls. Implement and enforce regulatory policies (provincial requirements, iA corporate policies)
- Manage fair distribution of work within the team, analyze monitoring reports (daily, monthly), implement corrective actions following internal audits, identify and implement process improvements.
- Document supervision interventions in internal systems; identify training needs and propose suitable content, monitor mandatory training and development plans.
- Work as a team with all WGI and iA Dealer Services partners to provide exceptional service to all clients, demonstrate professionalism and maintain a brand image in line with the company’s code of ethics, participate in assigned work meetings, prepare reports requested by management.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
- University or college degree in finance, management, or related field
- CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation.
- Property and Casualty Insurance (agent) license in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Property and Casualty Insurance (agent) licensee.
- Excellent oral and written Bilingual English & French communication skills (Fluent Spoken French is minimum) for interprovincial interactions
- Excellent knowledge of financial products and regulations
- Leadership, rigor, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
