Role Summary
The Scale Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the scale house, including weighing vehicles, maintaining accurate records, and managing site traffic flow. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient facility operations through strong attention to detail, customer service, and adherence to procedures.

Daily Responsibilities
Operate weigh scales, computer systems, and scale software Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and tickets Screen and record incoming/outgoing loads Direct vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility Maintain a clean and controlled scale house environment Check basic functionality of scale equipment Answer phone calls and provide routine information Use MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) Support shipping/receiving by entering product information Perform other operational tasks as required
Qualifications
Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and in small teams Reliable transportation to/from the site (limited or no public transit) Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation Comfortable working rotational day/night shifts
Working Conditions
Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights), weekends, and overtime as required Seasonal schedule with potential temporary winter layoff Facility environment requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
