About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Communication and Events Coordinator to join our team in Bonnyville on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our community relations and marketing initiatives. You will help to elevate Lakeland Credit Union's (LCU) presence by overseeing community support programs and organizing exciting member events. Your contributions will play a key role in enhancing brand awareness and enriching the overall member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and evaluate community donations and sponsorship applications while collaborating with local organizations to boost community engagement.

• Lead staff volunteering efforts and administer staff volunteer grants, spreading good across the community.

• Bring financial literacy to life! Coordinate and promote our LCU financial literacy program in partnership with subject matter experts.

• Help students shine through the LCU Scholarship Program, from promotion to application processing. Take the lead on celebrating their success at our annual LCU Scholarship Awards night.

• Support organizing our Annual General Meeting by creating information packages and various other tasks to make the event a success.

• Organize community events like "Movie in the Park" and "Wall of Distinction", while fostering engaging brand interactions.

• Keep your finger on the pulse of marketing trends! Recommend innovative strategies to enhance our brand awareness and community outreach.

• Capture memorable moments by photographing events and maintaining our photo library.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design compelling marketing campaigns and member communication tools.

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you have at least 1 year experience in a similar role including formal education in Marketing or a related field. You have a positive, team-orientated attitude with a passion for contributing to our communities and enhancing member experiences.

You will possess strong organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure successful project delivery. Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to clearly convey expectations and desired outcomes to colleagues and stakeholders. You are a quick learner who embraces challenges and is not afraid to ask questions or take the initiative.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canva Design, Ad Copywriting, Photography, Social Media Management, and Meta Advertising is required, as these skills will be vital in executing our marketing and community engagement strategies effectively.
