About the role

The Planner I (Co-Console System Analyst) is responsible for supporting the setup and management of the business toolset Co-Console. They will be working across multiple projects, specifically JSS, OOSV and Polar as a point of contact for all end users across these areas. The role will involve supporting the setup of the project Completions data structure within Co-Console, implementing new capability and functionality requests from users, and managing any emergent issues that come from the day-to-day use of the software.

There will also be an involvement in supporting the Ship Completions Planning Manager to document business processes and ensuring these are captured in the business QMS. The role will directly report to the Ship Completions Planning Manager.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

  • Assists the Ship Completions Planning Manager with development of the Completions data structure for the Polar project in alignment with various teams including Quality, Acceptance, Data Analytics, Engineering etc.
  • Assists the creation of base functionality in the Polar project server to align with agreed processes, procedures and templates in place on existing projects.
  • Supports the Quality and Acceptance team in gathering OQE data and preparing handover documentation according to established procedures.
  • Assists with implementing new feature requests under the guidance of the Ship Completions Planning Manager.
  • Manage daily emergent issues from End Users and rectify the root causes where possible.
  • Works closely with the vendor (Prometheus) to raise and manage tickets related to support, bug fixes, or feature requests and ensure these are closed out in a timely manner
  • Support the development of training material for End Users and Power Users and roll this training out to new and existing users where required.
  • Manage system access, security and permissions and liaise with the BTS team where required.
  • Supports data cleanup activities in collaboration with Engineering and Data Analytics teams, following established procedures within source toolsets.

What you’ll bring

  • Diploma or Technical certification in Trades or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience1 - 3 years’ experience working within a Shipbuilding environment with a specific understanding of Co-Console/Completions Management Systems, Quality Control, Production, Test & Trials and/or Acceptance processes
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Co-Console/Completions Management Systems and MS Suite of tools.
  • Experience or understanding of data structures/analytics is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities and interpersonal skills.

  • Deadline focused to ensure critical deliverables are met.

The estimated salary for this position is $73,800 - $90,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
