Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety and regulatory standards. The position requires a valid trade license in either mechanical, electrical, or another relevant field, with the technician reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections to identify potential problems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment according to technical specifications and safety guidelines.
- Use specialized tools and instruments for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintain an organized record of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations for licensed technicians.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
- Provide emergency maintenance services as needed and ensure timely response to breakdowns.
- Keep the maintenance area organized and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Assist in sourcing and ordering replacement parts as needed, once approval is obtained by Manager.
- Keep and maintain documentation on projects, work orders and tasks.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years' experience preferred
- Certificate
- Skilled Trade License is required (309/442)
- Experience within a startup environment is considered an asset
