SCALE OPERATOR

Location: 300 Rodick Rd, Markham, Ontario

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time

Reporting: Operations Manager

Start Date: Immediately

Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 5am-10:30am.Saturday, 8am-5pm. Sunday, 10am-3pm. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday OFF

Pay Rate: $23.22 per hour

Summary:
We are looking for a highly capable Scale Operator to join our team, based in Markham, ON.

Responsibilities:

• In the position of Scale Operator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act
• The weighing of vehicles IN and OUT at a reasonable pace to ensure accuracy of tickets and cash transactions
• You will perform visual inspections of loads at scale (only) for contamination purposes as well as direct traffic to proper drop-off locations
• You will be required to do Cash, Debit and credit card transactions, preferred retail experience
• You will review all tickets, cash register and global payments receipts to ensure they are correct and assist with paperwork as required, Answer telephone enquiries, take orders and direct calls
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Knowledge of and practical skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), strong PC based systems knowledge; with excellent keyboarding skills
• You will be required to fill in for any vacations or sick calls
• Ensure you aware of and always work within MWS’s safety Guidelines/Health and Safety Regulations/Policies
• Liaise with other supervisors, drivers, contractors and staff in a professional and team-oriented manner
• Highly developed organizational and team building skills

Qualification:

• Must possess excellent entrepreneurial, verbal, written communication and excellent organizational skills
• Outstanding customer service is a key. You must be a team player, with demonstrated safe working habits and a good attendance record
• You may be required to work extended hours
