About the Role:
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely processing of payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The successful applicant will:
- Match and post PO invoices; code and verify non-PO invoices to the general ledger.
- Post landed cost invoices for inbound item costs.
- Generate bi-weekly vendor payments and ensure timely disbursement.
- Collaborate with vendors, purchasing, and branch staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Support AP Supervisor with PO payables and cash disbursements.
- Ensure month-end posting deadlines are met.
- Review and clear AP clearing GL accounts and aged AP balances.
- Participate in ERP system projects, testing, and support.
- Engage in ongoing training to optimize AP processes within MS Dynamics 365.
- Support personal development and cross-functional projects.
- Provide backup for AP Supervisor.
- Handle intercompany invoicing and ad hoc reporting.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:
- High School diploma required; College or University education is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Accounts Payable.
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365 is a strong asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Initiative-driven with a solutions-oriented mindset.
