Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00-17:00)

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Market Analyst to join the Operations department. The Market Analyst analyzes data to identify trends, opportunities, and strategies that support the team’s goals. The incumbent monitors pricing trends, evaluates customer profitability, and analyzes market conditions to guide strategic decisions and maintain competitive rate structures. The Market Analyst ensures that pricing tools, reports, and recommendations drive measurable improvements in revenue, efficiency, and market positioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Research market trends, customer behavior, and competitor pricing. Analyze sales and performance data by customer, region, and product type. Identify opportunities for growth and risk areas in key markets, and prepare summaries and visuals to support strategic planning. 
  • Pricing Strategy & Profitability Support: Analyze yield and margin performance to support pricing decisions. Develop and maintain profitability models for business evaluation, recommend pricing adjustments to improve competitiveness and margins, and evaluate post-implementation results. 
  • Customer Rate Requests & Bid Preparation: Review and prepare customer rate requests and bids in collaboration with Sales, ensuring rates align with corporate targets and approval guidelines. Support renewals and tenders by providing detailed pricing analysis and maintaining bid records. 
  • Tariff & Rate Maintenance: Maintain and update tariffs, lane rates, and customer rate tables. Verify pricing accuracy across systems, communicate approved rate changes internally, and resolve rate discrepancies with Sales, Operations, or Finance. 
  • Reporting & Data Management: Generate weekly and monthly reports on pricing and profitability. Maintain data integrity across analytical systems, automate standard reports, and provide interactive dashboards to management. 
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations on shared goals. Support the implementation of new pricing tools and workflows. Participate in testing, and contribute ideas to enhance data quality and process efficiency. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: College diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or a related field. 
  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience. Transportation or logistics industry experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with TMW or equivalent pricing systems. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) transportation, rate management, and tariffs. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities with high accuracy and high attention to detail. 
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
