About The Role

The Clinical Research Data Analyst will play a vital role within the OUCH Pain Lab at The Hospital for Sick Children. This position involves working closely with the research team to support data management, analysis, and reporting activities related to various clinical studies, including randomized controlled trials and national registries. The analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining research databases, conducting statistical analyses, and ensuring data quality and integrity. Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator or their designate, the successful candidate will contribute to the lab’s mission of improving pediatric pain management through evidence-based research and innovative communication technologies.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of experience in clinical research settings. Previous experience with clinical trials, including quantitative research methodology application. Proficiency in database management tools such as REDCap and Excel. Advanced skills in statistical software such as Stata or R. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to plan, develop, and manage research databases. Conduct statistical analyses for multiple clinical research projects, ensuring methodological accuracy. Design, build, and maintain databases supporting ongoing and future research activities. Lead the development and implementation of a REDCap-based national, multisite registry. Establish and document data management workflows, including data dictionaries and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Develop data validation, cleaning, monitoring, and auditing procedures to ensure data quality. Create programming scripts to generate regular progress reports and data summaries. Perform routine data quality audits and data cleaning activities. Assist in analyzing clinical trial data under supervision from senior statisticians. Effectively communicate study results and insights to research team members. Support the preparation of research abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for publication.
