The Diagnostic Imaging Manager is a key member of a collaborative leadership team dedicated to enhancing the delivery of Diagnostic Imaging services for our patients. Reporting to the Director, Diagnostic Imaging Services (UAH/KEC/MAHI/Stollery), the Diagnostic Imaging Manager is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and management of multiple technical and operational areas within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. The current portfolio includes CT, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Diagnostic Imaging Nursing services, however, these responsibilities are subject to change based on operational requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with managers, physician leads, modality supervisors, and colleagues across departments and sites to optimize service delivery, operational efficiency, and patient care. This role supports the effective coordination of daily operations and collaborates with departmental leadership to ensure seamless, high-quality patient services. The Manager is also responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of departmental operating procedures and policies, ensuring alignment with the direction of the Department Director, Alberta Health Services policies and procedures, and Provincial Diagnostic Imaging standards and initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and serving as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Management team, the Diagnostic Imaging Manager provides leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for site-based imaging services. The position is accountable for human resource management, operational and fiscal planning, performance monitoring, and the achievement of key performance indicators. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across Alberta Health Services, the Manager fosters effective partnerships and ensures the delivery of integrated, high-quality, patient-centered Diagnostic Imaging services.
Classification: Manager Union: Exempt Unit and Program: Diagnostic Imaging Primary Location: U of A Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Negotiable Location: Within Edmonton Zone Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 11-AUG-2026 Date Available: 24-AUG-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, On Call Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $45.23 Maximum Salary: $77.51 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare leadership experience will be considered. Membership in a relevant professional association, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in the delivery of Diagnostic Imaging services. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations, human resource management, and quality improvement within a complex healthcare setting.
Additional Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging services and the relationships between clinical and technical teams, physicians, patients, and families. Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to foster teamwork, collaboration, and partnerships across disciplines and sites. Commitment to patient- and family-centered care and alignment with AHS vision, mission, and values. Experience in human resource management, including coaching, performance management, and staff development. Demonstrated financial and operational management expertise. Skilled in leading and supporting change initiatives within a complex healthcare environment. Innovative and resourceful, with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence. Ability to adapt leadership style to meet diverse team and organizational needs. Current registration, where applicable, with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT), the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), or another relevant professional regulatory body.
