Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Representative is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of financial records
- Manage full-cycle accounting for designated accounts
- Issue customer invoices and post vendor bills in a timely manner
- Apply customer payments, process refunds, and record banking transactions in the system
- Reconcile weekly and monthly sales between operational systems and the master accounting system
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or short payments against vendor statements
- Prepare and execute weekly vendor payment runs
- Distribute weekly account statements and follow up with customers for outstanding payments
- Support month-end close activities, including recurring journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations and balance confirmations
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and declarations
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Perform master data maintenance, credit checks, and other administrative accounting tasks
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Strong alignment with company values and a customer-centric mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and in English to collaborate with key stakeholders worldwide.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 1 year of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with CargoWise (preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Demonstrates initiative, autonomy, and a customer-centric mindset
