Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Representative is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing of financial transactions.

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of financial records
• Manage full-cycle accounting for designated accounts
• Issue customer invoices and post vendor bills in a timely manner
• Apply customer payments, process refunds, and record banking transactions in the system
• Reconcile weekly and monthly sales between operational systems and the master accounting system
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or short payments against vendor statements
• Prepare and execute weekly vendor payment runs
• Distribute weekly account statements and follow up with customers for outstanding payments
• Support month-end close activities, including recurring journal entries and bank reconciliations
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and balance confirmations
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and declarations
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Perform master data maintenance, credit checks, and other administrative accounting tasks
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as required

Qualifications

• Strong alignment with company values and a customer-centric mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and in English to collaborate with key stakeholders worldwide.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum 1 year of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with CargoWise (preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Demonstrates initiative, autonomy, and a customer-centric mindset
