Position: Nurse Clinician
Status: Temporary Full time (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Schedule of Work: Monday - Friday
Closing Date: August 27, 2025 @ 8:30am
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Resident Care Manager, the Nurse Clinician provides continuity, planning, oversite and supervision at the unit level. The Nurse Clinician supports the floors with new admissions and assists the floor nurses with clinical procedures such as ear syringing, catheterizations etc… The Nurse Clinician will be relied upon to cover the floors, in the event of a nurse shortage. The Nurse Clinician will coach and empower floor nurses as needed regarding clinical procedures and processes.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides committed leadership within the framework of, the Model, Mission, Vision, Values of the organization
-
Point of clinical contact for families, loved ones, multidisciplinary staff and physicians
-
Physician rounding and communication with phone follow up as required
-
Admission of new community members
-
Unit level oversite and communication
-
RAI completion and personalized care planning
-
Unit level communication and huddles
-
Risk assessment follow up and tracking
-
At-the-elbow support for clinical teams
-
Participation and input at interdisciplinary team meetings
-
Identification of trends and issues with appropriate escalation to supervisor
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to read, understand and comply with Park Place Seniors Living's and provincially mandated Occupational Health and Safety policies and safe work practices.

Demonstrates leadership in all aspects of the Health and Safety Program including:

Role modelling safe work procedures

Promotes health and safety policy and awareness
-
Makes safety suggestions
-
Responsible to take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of Residents, self, other employees and the public.

Reports any near miss, injury, and accident or equipment damage to supervisor immediately and completes required reports.

Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions.
-
Leads by setting a good example.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from an approved nursing program and one to two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. CAN Gerontology certification GNC(C) and RAI-MDS certification preferred
Current practicing registration with applicable provincial registering body.
