About the role

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Quality team as we build the world’s most advanced robots. Every day, you will work closely with the Operations team to ensure timely inspections are conducted to aid with the proper flow of parts and materials needed for production. You will play a vital role in helping to ensure our customers receive robots that are made to the highest standards. To thrive in this role, you must have an understanding of engineering drawings and the part inspection process, and have excellent communication skills with a team-first mentality.

Day To Day Activities

  • Following our quality control plan, inspect supplier and internal materials utilizing various mechanical tools and equipment and a range of inspection techniques
  • Provide disposition based on results of in-process and incoming inspections and document and communicate inspection results
  • Provide periodic reports related to quality inspection results and provide feedback to look for opportunities for improvement in our quality and control processes.
  • Help manage the MRB area by pushing for timely and accurate dispositions as required
  • Support Operations team as needed with inline sorting associated with quality
  • Help manage calibration requirements both for quality inspection area and for equipment on the manufacturing line
  • Conduct and document internal compliance audits related to our quality assurance requirements as required
  • Maintain a clean, well organized work space in line with 5S standards
  • Follow health and safety requirements at all times and bring to light safety concerns as soon as they arise

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience in a quality inspector or quality technician role, preferably in an electromechanical or medical assembly environment.
  • Experience in PCBA and cable inspection to IPC standards
  • Experience in quality control techniques and understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality control plans
  • Hands-on inspection skills (caliper, micrometer, thread gages, etc.); CMM experience not required
  • Experience with ERP preferred, as well as experience working on computers and using computer programs to aid inspection.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 or similar environment

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position. The base pay range for this position is between $33.85 to $43.80 hourly. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.
