Position Summary:
Position: Appliance Technician
Type: Full Time
Location: CNRL Horizon
Schedule: 7 on/7 off
Compensation Details:

Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:
- As an Appliance Technician, you are a key member of our team responsible for the quality and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of appliances and other equipment. This position is right for you if you are self-motivated, have a knack for troubleshooting, and can manage time effectively, preferably certified with Large commercial kitchen equipment experience. Equipment to include commercial dish washers, kettles, rotatory ovens, line grills etc.
Experience on, and ability to assist other trades when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete field level risk assessments
- Installs and troubleshoots washers, ranges and other large appliances.
- Must know how to connect water or gas lines, and how to check for leaks once the appliances are installed.
- Troubleshoot and repair or replace any defective components found in appliances.
- Dismantle and reassemble appliances to make their diagnosis. Appliances can include but are not limited to: walk-in coolers, food service equipment, freezers, ovens, fryers, commercial dishwashers, soft serve ice cream machines, washers, dryers, microwaves, coffee makers, commercial toasters, etc.
- Other job duties may include record keeping, repair estimates and inventory control.
- Appliance repair technicians must also have good customer service skills and a clean driver's license record.
- You are required to provide your own basic hand tools
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
- Journeyman Certificate as Appliance Service Technician is preferred.
- Secondary Journeyperson Certification or higher ie. Gas fitter, Electrician, Plumber, HVAC, Millwright with sufficient appliance tech experience will be considered.
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or equivalent.
- WHMIS
- Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Large commercial kitchen equipment experience required, equipment to include commercial dish washers, kettles, rotatory ovens, line grills etc.
- Must be detail oriented
- Willingness to keep up to date with changing technology
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
- Good written and oral communication skills. All applicants must have ability to Read, Speak and write fluently in English.
