Job Description:

We're hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Culture team in Vancouver and own the full recruitment lifecycle across Onni Group's diverse portfolio. From sourcing trades professionals to onboarding corporate staff, you'll be the person who connects the right people to the right roles — and sets them up for success from day one.

What You Will Do:

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Manage a high-volume requisition load across multiple business units and regions, ensuring timely and quality hires for corporate, field, construction, property management, and hospitality roles.
  • Post job openings across all relevant platforms including LinkedIn, Indeed, and industry-specific job boards, tailoring postings to reflect role requirements and Onni Group’s employer brand.
  • Source and proactively headhunt qualified candidates through direct outreach, talent pipelines, networking, and recruitment channels.
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone, video, and in-person interviews to assess candidate qualifications, and role suitability.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, ensuring a timely and organized process for all parties.
  • Manage all applicant activity within Workday, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records throughout the hiring lifecycle.
  • Conduct reference checks and support the preparation and delivery of offer letters in collaboration with the People & Culture team.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles to reduce time-to-fill on future openings.

Onboarding & Orientation

  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for all new hires, ensuring completion of required documentation, system access, and first-day logistics.
  • Deliver or support new employee orientation sessions, introducing staff to Onni Group’s culture, policies, and key operational procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for new hires during their initial onboarding period, answering questions and providing a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Liaise with hiring managers, IT, payroll, and Admin team to ensure all pre-start and day-one requirements are fulfilled on schedule.
  • Track onboarding completion and flag outstanding items to ensure compliance with internal requirements.
  • Gather new hire feedback to support continuous improvement of the onboarding experience.

Sourcing & Talent Strategy

  • Research and attend career fairs, post-secondary events, and networking opportunities to promote Onni Group and its subsidiary brands.
  • Develop applicant sources by building relationships with colleges, employment agencies, community organizations, and industry associations.
  • Advise hiring managers on market conditions, talent availability, salary benchmarks, and competitive positioning on offers.
  • Support recruitment metrics tracking including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance rates.
  • Stay current on legislative changes that may affect recruitment practices, including pay transparency requirements and data protection regulations.

Collaboration & Administrative Support

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Lead and broader People & Culture team to align recruitment activity with organizational hiring priorities.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions in collaboration with hiring managers to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide regular status updates to hiring managers on requisition activity and candidate pipelines.
  • Support special HR and recruitment projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience is an asset.

  • 2–4 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-site environment.

  • Experience using Workday is considered an asset, including managing job requisitions, candidate pipelines, interview scheduling, and onboarding workflows. Familiarity with reporting and system optimization within Workday is a strong advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability or interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar platforms) to streamline recruitment processes, improve efficiency, and enhance candidate communication, including tasks such as resume screening, job description drafting, and workflow automation.

  • Experience recruiting across multiple disciplines including construction, trades, property management, or hospitality is considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiency with ATS platforms and recruitment tools including LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.

  • Experience supporting or coordinating new employee onboarding programs, ensuring a smooth and positive candidate-to-employee transition.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Collaborative mindset with a customer-service orientation and a strong focus on delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.

  • Knowledge of applicable employment standards and recruitment legislation across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions is an asset.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies in recruitment processes and implement solutions that enhance productivity, consistency, and overall hiring outcomes.

Salary Range:

$55,000 - $65,000
