What you will do:
Business Advisor is a business generalist that serves to help develop new and existing businesses in the North Okanagan to effectively launch, implement, and grow their business. The focus of this Business Advisor is to support employers and job seekers through our WorkBC Wage Subsidy Program. The WorkBC Wage Subsidy program covers a part of employee wages so employers can hire job seekers. https://www.workbc.ca/access-employer-resources/wage-subsidy-program
This role requires the ability to negotiate contracts, as well as assists entrepreneurs and business owners through one-to-one coaching, sharing of resources, connecting to relevant supports, workshop facilitation, and targeted programming.
What we need from you:
Education and Certification
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Post-secondary courses, certificate, degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. commerce, marketing, finance, business administration, bookkeeping, accounting or human resources)
- Valid driver's license required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Effective presentation, public relations, verbal, written and interpersonal communication
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups and/or coaching experience
- Business acumen an asset
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and business community
- Experience working in not-for-profit, government-funded programs
- Experience in CRM, specifically ICM, is an asset
