Job Description

AECOM Mississauga is seeking a Constructability Reviewer (LRT Stations) to lead progressive reviews of station design packages for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project. This role provides technical and construction expertise to assess buildability, sequencing feasibility, and alignment with site conditions. The Constructability Reviewer will engage with the client, design teams, contractors, and oversight representatives to identify constructability risks early, strengthen staging and logistics strategies, and minimize downstream delays or rework.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Package Review: Evaluate station design submissions with a focus on constructability, staging, downstream and temporary works.
  • Phasing & Sequencing: Assess construction sequencing for structural works, rail infrastructure, validating feasibility in constrained urban conditions.
  • Interface Oversight: Identify dependencies and risks at interfaces between stations, tunnels, and adjacent civil works From rails systems lens
  • Constructability Input: Provide early technical input during progressive design reviews to align engineering with construction realities**.**
  • Risk Management: Highlight potential safety, schedule, or cost risks arising from design assumptions; recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with contractors, design engineers, utilities, and Metrolinx representatives to discuss constructability findings and adjustments.
  • Reporting: Document constructability review outcomes, issues, and recommendations to support project decision-making.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification (e.g., P. Eng) considered an asset.
  • 6+ years of rail systems experience on large-scale transit or underground station projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally 12+ years of rail systems experience on large-scale transit or underground station projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rail systems and station construction sequencing.
  • Proven track record in constructability reviews and coordination with design and contractor teams.

Measure of Success

  • Delivery of constructability reviews that highlight risks early and reduce downstream delays.
  • Practical, field-driven input incorporated into design packages.
  • Clear documentation and communication of constructability findings.
  • Positive collaboration with design and contractor teams resulting in more efficient station delivery.
