About the role

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in St-Laurent. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for general ledger journal entries, month-end close procedures, and analyzing balances in accounts for appropriateness. This position performs account reconciliations and is required to have detailed knowledge of all general ledger accounts and contents.

Responsibilities:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations: Preparation of supporting schedules, preparation of appropriate journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts. Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close (bank reconciliations, accruals, provisions, supplying information).
  • Perform GL mapping to existing chart of account (Trial balance importing).
  • Reconciling intercompanies GL regularly.
  • Providing variance analysis monthly.
  • Maintaining the acquisition's PPE continuity schedule (additions, disposals).
  • Applying and assisting in the application of company policies.
  • Providing AR/AP/Sales/COGS/Inventory information across the different departments (for borrowing base calculation, intercompany eliminations…)
  • Review financial results for completeness by preparing various reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Recording opening balances of trial balance.
  • Participate in other initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter and results driven.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Bilingual (English & French). Employee needs to be able to communicate with the head office, outside vendors, and suppliers etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft: Access, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Undergraduate 2 year degree required (4 year degree preferred) from an accredited College/University.
  • Accounting or Finance Major preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience.
