As our innovative business grows rapidly, Intercity Packers is looking for a Full Time Warehouse Supervisor located in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Supervisor will supervise warehouse activities and personnel. They will assign staff and monitor the flow of products through the plant. Make recommendations for process improvement.
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Wage: Between $28-30/hour depending on experience, plus performance bonus
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming receipts and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Inspects the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment. Communicates the need for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
- Collaborates with other distribution centers and business leaders to ensure coordination of all business.
- Participates in employee safety and plant protection activities.
- Provides leadership, ensures adherence to company practices and procedures, applies corrective action when needed.
- Interviews, trains, and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiates follow through with disciplinary action when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a role model and resource to them.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of all orders and shipments.
- Coordinates future orders and prepares labor resources to meet anticipated demand.
- Develops and maintains a cross functional team prepared to step in as needed.
- Additional duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience required. At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- High school or equivalent.
- Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to lift to 65lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
