About the role

SkyCare is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Astra Captain supporting both air ambulance and charter operations.

This role involves multi-engine turbine IFR operations across domestic and international routes, including long-range and time-sensitive missions throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The position is suited to experienced pilots with strong operational judgment, leadership ability, and a background in corporate or charter flying environments.

Captain Requirements

Captains are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, as well as the safety of all crew members, passengers, and patients on board. This role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and a high level of professionalism in both air ambulance and client-facing charter operations.

All pilots are required to complete initial company training and successfully pass a PPC conducted by a Transport Canada Inspector or Approved Check Pilot. Adherence to company SOPs, policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements is expected at all times.

Your Role at SkyCare

As a Astra Captain, You Will

Exercise command authority and uphold the highest standards of flight safety Conduct pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, fuel planning, and weight & balance Operate multi-engine turbine aircraft in IFR conditions across domestic and international routes Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, ATC, and ground handling teams Deliver a high level of professionalism in both medevac and client-facing charter operations Support both charter and air ambulance missions, including patient transport where required Respond effectively to in-flight changes, operational challenges, and dynamic schedules Complete post-flight duties, including reporting and documentation

What You Can Expect

Multi-engine turbine IFR operations in a dynamic, multi-mission environment A mix of air ambulance and corporate charter flying Domestic and international operations across North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean Long-range and time-sensitive mission profiles Exposure to specialized operations, including patient transport

Qualifications & Certifications

Minimum 3,000 hours total time Minimum 500 hours Multi-Engine PIC Current Group 1 Instrument Rating TC ATPL Valid Category 1 Medical Valid Canadian Passport and ability to travel internationally (including the United States) Legally entitled to work in Canada Valid Driver’s License Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Certificate

Preferred Experience

Previous multi-engine turbine or jet experience Experience in corporate or charter operations Experience operating in IFR, multi-crew environments International and/or long-range operational experience Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to adapt to dynamic schedules and time-sensitive operations

This Role Is Best Suited For Pilots Who

Have experience in multi-engine turbine or jet operations Are confident operating in IFR, multi-crew environments Demonstrate strong decision-making and sound operational judgment Adapt well to changing schedules and time-sensitive missions Communicate effectively across flight crews, dispatch, and support teams Maintain a high standard of professionalism in both medevac and charter operations Take a proactive, team-oriented approach to flight operations

Additional Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills (English proficiency required) Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multi-disciplinary environment Criminal Record Check (within the last 30 days)
