About the role

Overview Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager drives mid-range to long term specific organizational strategic goals for the assigned market, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of specific markets and related market conditions. Identifies business opportunities for relevant product offering to promote sustainable and profitable sales in the assigned market. In conjunction with sales, factories, and product management roles develops complex medium- and long-term sales strategies based on current and future business needs designing unique to client solutions including emerging technologies.

This is a full-time position.

This position is remote based in Ontario, Canada.

There is a 50% travel requirement in this role. Most of which will be across Canada with some travel to the US.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a strategic business plan in alignment with sales leadership to effectively support and grow Panasonic’s market share. Establishes maintains, and continuously improves a review and vetting process for each potential partner to ensure feasibility of partner solution. Defines sales engagement model and negotiate agreement for each selected solution.
  • Understands the IT Landscape and trends in the market in order to identify, develop and market new solutions in order to drive revenue in the current fiscal year as well as help the sales teams grow their long-term pipeline.
  • Collaborates internally with Product Management, Service, and Engineering teams to identify, evaluate, recruit, build and capitalize upon appropriate partnerships with strategic partners.
  • Works with industry customers and sales team members to identify, prioritize, and build business cases for new product and/or feature development. Engages with and assists Market Solutions team to identify solutions partners and gaps
  • Explores and identifies third party solutions that complement the existing product portfolio and service offerings towards additional revenue growth. Onboards partners and assist with launch efforts of selected solutions which includes training and communication.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert within the rugged mobility space and interface as such with the different stakeholders within the organization. Including sales, marketing, product management, engineering and factory. Collects, analyzes and disseminates key market news, customer data, product trends, and competitive information in order to educate and provide market readiness to the sales team and its channel partners.
  • Serves as the voice of Panasonic Connect Mobility in public relations and media opportunities to build market awareness and position Panasonic as a Thought Leader. Promotes mobility solutions offerings within the sales team and reseller channel through presentations, training sessions, and speaking engagements. Identifies and actively engages in appropriate associations, boards, or other appropriate committees in order to position Panasonic in the given market.
  • Develops and maintains an annual strategic plan for supporting the sales team in collaboration and alignment with the sales leadership team. Works with the appropriate marketing team members in the development and execution of appropriate market messaging, strategies, promotions, and other tactics designed to generate market awareness for Panasonic to produce actionable leads and grow the pipeline for the sales team.
  • In concert with the sales leadership team and marketing – participates in scheduled advisory events to collect direct feedback from end users. Participates in trade shows or events as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, Engineering, Technology or similar field related to our business. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of related work experience with a minimum of 5 years in the Mobile Computing space.
  • Experience working with Canadian Federal, Provincial Government and corporate customers in the IT Space. Security Clearances preferred or achievable. A proven ability to identify, develop and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Work independently and as part of a larger team while maintaining a high level of productivity
  • Proficient in business tools such as Salesforce, SAP, PowerPoint, Excel, CoPilot, etc.
  • Requires the ability to solve moderately complex business and technical networking problems common to the industry.
  • Significant and complex problem solving involves managing accounts to maximize sales, making business plan recommendations.
  • Routine problem solving would be resolving issues regarding credit, shipping, returns, contract/program, samples, pricing, stock, and product knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with customers. Influences and negotiates to close business in a mutually rewarding manner.
  • Negotiates to settle complex business issues and communicates repopulations to management.
  • Influences to develop accounts and maximize business, increase market share, and positioning for assigned product lines.
  • Develops rapport to give support, impart product knowledge, and resolve daily issues. Communicates with sensitivity of diversity.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in public speaking and engaging with industry analysts.

What You’ll Earn The annual wage range for this position is $100,000 -$140,000 CAD .

In addition, the position of Business Development Manager is eligible for a maximum annual bonus of 50% of the base salary based on achievement of predetermined objectives.

This position is eligible for a bi-weekly car allowance of $254 .

Actual compensation offered to the selected incumbent will vary depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience related to the role.
