The Frobisher Inn is seeking a skilled and motivated Lounge Bar & Grill Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a cook who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys evening and late night service, and takes pride in delivering high quality, consistent food while contributing creative ideas to menu offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items for the Lounge Bar & Grill according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Execute food service efficiently in a fast paced, high volume kitchen, particularly during evenings, weekends, and late night service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety and health regulations.
- Contribute creative ideas for menu options, daily features, and seasonal specials while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and plating to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Assist with inventory rotation, proper storage, and waste reduction.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front of house teams to support smooth and timely service.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a cook in a bar, grill, or casual dining environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced kitchen setting.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and late nights.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices.
- Ability to consistently produce high quality food with speed and accuracy.
- Creativity and interest in menu development and food presentation.
- Reliable, team oriented, and adaptable.
Compensation & Eligibility
- Hourly Wage: $22.50 – $27.00 per hour, based on experience and culinary background.
- This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship, except under the Francophone Mobility Program.
- Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Travel and relocation support is available for qualified candidates residing within Canada.
