The Role

The Account Manager serves as the primary connection between the business and major national and international clients. This individual oversees day-to-day program activity, manages escalations, and champions customer needs across internal departments. They bring structure to high-pressure environments, ensuring programs run smoothly while identifying new opportunities for revenue and partnership expansion.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning key relationships, guiding strategy, and influencing outcomes through insight, professionalism, and proactive communication.

The Responsibilities

• Build and nurture long-term relationships with major retail accounts, acting as the main point of contact across email, phone, and in-person interactions.

• Oversee ongoing program execution, including reporting, forecasting, performance reviews, and analysis of both current and future customer needs.

• Collaborate with internal teams—production, design, logistics, planning, and sales—to ensure alignment on upcoming orders, timelines, and emerging opportunities.

• Prepare reporting packages, dashboards, calendars, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Develop strategic account plans and identify areas for revenue growth across multiple business units or banners.

• Participate in product reviews and present key lines to senior customer teams.

• Evaluate customer organizational structures and marketing strategies to inform negotiations and account planning.

• Communicate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, ensure operational accuracy, and uphold service standards.

• Support decision-making by translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

The Requirements

• Experience managing major customer accounts, ideally within retail or a similarly complex environment.

• Post-secondary education in business, sales, or a related field is an asset.

• Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and vendor partners.

• Strong communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats.

• Highly analytical with the ability to interpret numbers, build dashboards, and present insights clearly.

• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

• Strong negotiation abilities and confidence navigating high-stakes conversations.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to think strategically.

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office; familiarity with systems such as ERP, EDI, or retail platforms is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel for client meetings, including occasional overnight trips.
