Purpose The Warehouse Lead - Night is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate and timely flow of materials, products, and orders. This role manages inventory control, purchasing, receiving, order processing, and distribution activities while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and food safety regulations. The Warehouse Lead partners with supervisors to plan and prioritize workload, trains and develops team members, and drives efficiency, accuracy, and customer service excellence. By leading by example, the Warehouse Lead contributes to a safe, organized, and productive work environment that consistently meets or exceeds operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Track and manage raw materials, equipment, shipments, and stock levels.
- Digitally manage inventory systems, reconcile variances, and prepare accurate inventory reports.
- Monitor and prevent supply shortages; proactively address unexpected shortages.
- Participate in regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Negotiate pricing and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Place and manage material orders as required to meet operational needs.
- Maintain and update supplier purchasing files with complete pricing and contract details.
- Review, process, and reconcile all incoming and outgoing orders.
- Oversee receiving operations to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely order picking/selection to meet KPIs.
- Manage invoicing, packaging, and preparation of orders for shipment.
- Coordinate accurate, timely, and efficient customer deliveries, including those handled by outside transport.
- Partner with supervisors and management to plan and schedule daily/weekly tasks in line with demand.
- Cross-train team members for flexibility and operational coverage.
- Conduct on-the-job training and performance reviews for new team members, ensuring smooth integration.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive, collaborative, and adaptable work environment.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports.
- Set and monitor productivity goals; ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve efficiency and reduce errors, fuel, maintenance, and labor costs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and OHSA/Health & Safety standards.
- Enforce company Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained and safe to operate.
- Oversee cooler/freezer product movement and integrity.
- Communicate effectively with Sales and other departments to support customer needs.
- Ability to work nights.
- Ability to work evenings as needed.
- Ability to use scanning guns and warehouse technology effectively.
- All other duties as assigned.

- 2+ years of hands on experience in a similar role
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Strong financial skills (e.g. budgeting, calculating, accounting)
- Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
Education
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
Physical Demands
- Physically able to lift (50 to 70 + lbs.), stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, squat, repetitively for the duration of the shift
- Can work in cold environments, be exposed to dust, odors and raw meat including pork, poultry and seafood
