We are looking for a Part-Time Accountant on an 18-month contract to join our team.

What You’ll Do
As an Accountant, you will:
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes.
- Support accounts receivable, ensuring accurate preparation of invoices, collection of payments and reconciliation of records.
- Support the Finance team with financial analyses and reports when required
- Assist with spill‑related accounting, including data entry, billing support, and preparation of cost summaries for operational teams.
- Assist with and act as the primary point-of-contact for auditor requests.
- Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
- Liaise with other departments and assist with accounting related questions
- GST/PST tax remittances
- Assist with accounting system upgrades
What You Bring
- 2-5 years of previous finance/accounting experience.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize MS Office applications and other accounting software applications.
Preferred
- Collaborative team player who thrives on coordinating and interacting with multiple people on multiple projects, and who is able to manage shifting priorities. A persistent, resilient, results oriented individual.
- High attention to detail, strong computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

WCMRC has successfully responded to oil spills on Canada's West Coast for over 40 years.
