The Role Airport Manager – Vancouver (YVR) You’ll be part of British Airways’ Worldwide Airports team, a frontline operational function that plays a critical role in delivering safe, secure and punctual operations while providing outstanding customer service to our customers around the world.

Our airport teams represent British Airways on the ground every day, ensuring our brand promise is delivered consistently while meeting demanding operational, safety and financial standards.

As Airport Manager at Vancouver International Airport , you’ll take full accountability for station performance, leading teams and partners to deliver an excellent customer experience, strong operational outcomes and full regulatory compliance across the station and its remote oversight location.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of British Airways and Ground Handling Agent colleagues to deliver high standards of customer service, safety and operational performance.
  • Accountable for all station KPIs, customer service targets and service recovery processes, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and professionally.
  • Acting as the senior British Airways representative at the airport, you’ll work closely with local airport authorities, suppliers and government agencies to ensure a safe, secure and punctual operation.
  • Manage station budgets within agreed limits, negotiate with suppliers in line with corporate parameters, and hold partners accountable to agreed service level agreements.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, security and audit requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across suppliers and processes, ensuring all administrative and operational responsibilities are delivered to a consistently high standard.

Collaborative and commercially aware, you’ll build strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders, while encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.
  • You’ll communicate clearly, manage performance effectively and demonstrate resilience, initiative and a strong sense of accountability in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Your Experience

  • You’ll have relevant airport operational experience, with people management and/or supplier management experience strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with an associate degree or equivalent experience required. You’ll bring experience working cross‑functionally, managing conflict or crisis situations, and operating independently under pressure.
  • Strong safety and security awareness is essential.
  • Confidence and proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • This role requires flexibility to work weekends, irregular shifts and travel as operationally required.
  • Strong negotiation, planning and problem‑solving skills.
