About the role
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Product Manager, Tires and Wheels, the Analyst works with the Product Management team and the Buying team, providing critical analytics support to decision making regarding product assortment, product pricing and product testing for Automotive Products – primarily Automotive Tires and Wheels. Assortment and Pricing recommendations will be based on market knowledge, data analysis and vendor collaboration.
The Analyst will be responsible for executing logistics and communications around two of CTC’s key programs, Tires Assortment Planning (TAP) and Road Rated. TAP helps ensure that Canadian Tire has the right products, in the right place, at the right time. Road Rated enables us to collect and publish objective test data on automotive tires, to allow our customers to make informed decisions about which tires are best for them.
- Run and publish regular dashboard reporting based on market trends, national and regional sales data, to support business decisions that will help ensure we are meeting our customers’ needs every day.
- Deliver Store level assortment recommendations through TAP reporting, consult with stores on Inventory Management best practices, and execute reverse flow programs to ensure each Store is optimally stocking tires that contribute to their sales.
- Maintenance of pricing strategies, price modeling and price change execution to ensure we are priced competitively in the marketplace. The analyst will provide insights into how pricing may impact future financial results and make recommendations on pricing strategy and tactical price changes in season.
- Lead the logistics and communication our tire performance testing program which supports assortment decision making, Owned Brand tire development, and publishing of Road Rated test scores in print and online media.

- Demonstrated analytical skills, pulling insights out of data
- Skills in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Familiarity with Knime, Power BI, VBA, SQL, R, Python, or other analytics, modeling or data visualization software are all assets
- Working knowledge or familiarity in the automotive industry and specifically Tires and Wheels is an asset
