About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures

continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,

understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

Reporting to the Manager ‑ Cardiac Catheterization Lab, the Clerk IV works closely with the Data Specialist, nursing

staff, cardiologists and other team members to maximize the quality and timeliness of care that TBRHSC patients

receive. As the main contact individual within the Department, the Clerk ensures the patient’s experience and level

of satisfaction are positive. The clerk has a fundamental role in data management within the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Qualifications:

*Secondary school diploma with a certificate in Secretarial Arts/Office Administration or recent equivalent

experience (3 year minimum)

*Minimum 2 years recent experience (during past 5 years) as a surgical or procedural Booking Clerk

*1 year recent experience with CorHeath WTIS provincial database or equivalent databases

*Administrative and computer skills/certifications that include use of MS Office Suite

*Experience with Meditech Information Systems, City Wide Scheduling, TBRHSC Payroll Systems, PACS, etc

*Experience generating technical reports from multiple databases

*Demonstrable ability to accurately translate information from a variety of sources into data management systems

*Attention to detail and critical thinking are mandatory as reports as submitted to various internal financial and

provincial bodies

*Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and standard abbreviations particularly in the cardiac field

*Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills

*Radiates a positive attitude and collaborative approach with multidisciplinary colleagues

*Highly motivated & organized individual with the ability to prioritize activities independently

*Excellent problem solving ability related to technical systems and potential process flow improvements

*Willing to work flexible hours

Salary Range: $30.656 to 31.332
