Next Gen Women in Energy: Career Discovery Day  Location: Gibson Energy, Calgary Head OfficeEvent Date: Tuesday September 29, 2026Approximate Time: 12:00pm to 5:30pm Application Deadline: September 11, 2026  

EVENT OVERVIEW

Gibson Energy is pleased to host Next Gen Women in Energy: Career Discovery Day, an in-person career exploration event for up to 10 undergraduate students interested in learning more about career opportunities in the energy sector.   This half-day event is designed to provide meaningful exposure to Gibson Energy’s business, senior leaders, and future career pathways. Participants will gain insight into the skills, experiences, and opportunities that support success in energy, while building connections with leaders and hiring managers across the organization.  

THE EXPERIENCE

Attend a networking luncheon with senior management

Gain insight into Gibson Energy’s operations and strategy through presentations from senior leaders

Engage in interactive sessions focused on Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Energy Marketing and Technology Connect directly with hiring managers Attend a closing networking reception

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of an undergraduate program for the 2026/2027 school year Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Economics or Technology (interest in GenAI) Must be available to attend the in-person event on September 29, 2026

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Critical thinking and problem-solving ability Leadership potential Interest in pursuing a career in the energy sector with Gibson Energy

This event is part of Gibson Energy’s Next Gen Hiring Strategy. Participants may be considered for:

Internship or co-op opportunities

New graduate roles $2,000 Gibson Energy Next Gen Scholarship opportunity

Employment with Gibson Energy is not a requirement to be selected for the scholarship

Cover letter outlining your interest in the event and why you would like to be considered for future opportunities at Gibson Energy

  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. Selected candidates will be contacted to participate in a virtual interview, which will take place shortly after your application is reviewed if you’ve been shortlisted.   Successful candidates will be notified following the completion of the interview process on or before September 22nd.  

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Gibson Energy will also be offering applicants of the Career Discovery Day the opportunity to win the $2,000 Gibson Energy Next Gen Scholarship award. The scholarship award is separate from any position recruitment and selection process and is optional. To be considered for the $2,000 Gibson Energy Next Gen Scholarship, please submit a 250–500 word essay on “Next Gen Women in Energy:  How your field of study can help shape a reliable, sustainable, and lasting future for the oil and gas industry”.
