Position Summary
The School Based Wellness Coach works closely with counsellors and assistant principals to provide professional and compassionate coaching services to students and their families to support students facing mental health, interpersonal and socio-economic difficulties. The successful candidate will work with Division staff and external agencies to provide wrap-around services to students and families to support academic success and high school completion.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

enhancing community and cultural partnerships

building and maintaining strong relationships with students and families

supporting peer relationships and navigating difficulties between students
-
identifying students that are at-risk and in need of crisis intervention
-
delivering programming to increase knowledge and foster abilities to improve mental health and wellness
-
providing ongoing emotional support by connecting with families through home visits, emails and telephone calls
-
assisting in the maintenance of a safe and caring environment
Education/Qualifications
-
a diploma in counselling, social work or related field
-
a minimum of three years related experience
-
experience in mental health and child and youth development
-
experience working as a coach to adolescent students
-
strong relationship building, teamwork and communication skills
-
knowledge of the local community and available resources
Rate of Pay
$36.04 - $45.67 per hour
